Welcome package with name tag |
On the
second day of event we all together went to Riga Technical University for
official opening ceremony. People one by one went into the room and got their
welcome packages that contained jacket and some small things with logos on
them.
"Pecha-kucha" method (The Netherlands) |
The first
one who opened Youth Exchange project was Gunita who was responsible for the
opening ceremony. The next one was Laura, our BEST-Riga president, after her
there was Dārta, our main organiser. Then we had “pecha-kucha” method when we
showed random pictures for 20 seconds and people from one country had to
explain and describe them. That way we found out some interesting facts about
each other’s culture in fun way. After that we took a group photo. Or ten. :)
A map from city/photo rally |
Later that
day we had city/photo rally. We had maps with marked stop points and pages with
photos from many beautiful places, buildings and also random things from Riga,
mainly close to the city center and Old Town. Participants had a chance to see
our beautiful and full of culture capital city from untraditional point of
view. They moved from one stop point to another and they were supposed to take
photos of the things/places/buildings that were on pages given by organisers.
Meanwhile there was also a page with things you have to do to get extra points.
Some of them were connected to Latvian Song and Dance Festival that is taking
place right now. So participants had (and still have) a great opportunity to
see this festival that is a part of our, Latvian, culture.
Participants
are starting to explore a part of our culture and so far they like it.
All nice, young people together. |
P.S. More photos will be posted later on our BEST-Riga Facebook page and the link will be placed on this blog.
