Day 1, Arrival

Our place at Lucavsala

Yesterday, in the 5th of July young and positive people from Malta, The Netherlands, Finland and Turkey arrived to Latvia to start a 10 day long Youth Exchange project “Roots in Europe, culture in heart”. In these 10 days we will be finding out more about each other’s cultures and also getting ready for the exhibition placed in the center of Riga. For the place of exhibition we have to say a big “thank you” to our collaboration partner “Riga 2014”. 

And the 10 days long journey could began! All day long people were arriving and when the last ones came we went to Lucavsala to get to know each other better. We played some “get-to-know” and “ice breaking” games, we cooked some Latvian food, we talked, we tried (and still try) to remember all the names and we wake boarded. And another big “thank you” goes to Riga Wake Park for giving us a great opportunity to wake board and of course letting us to use a beautiful place at the river.

It was a very nice evening with a lot of smiley people around, a nice atmosphere and beginning of new friendships. With that kind of great youth group our project will be more than great!
