| One of the task |
On the
third day of project we all were separated in groups and we had some tasks we
needed to do. Most of the tasks were connected to Latvian Song and Dance
Festival, for example, to take crazy picture with someone dressed in Latvian traditional
folk costume. There was at least one person from Latvia in each group so in
that way we managed to teach participants one of our traditional folk song “Bēdu
manu lielu bēdu”. We also went to watch a parade that took part through Riga,
starting from Smilšu iela to theater “Daile”. Participants were surprised that
in such a small country as Latvia we have so many people.

Later that
day we organised a Latvian language lesson and we teached people some common
phrases in Latvian. Then they were supposed to compose small sketch in Latvian
about daily situations. In the evening we went to “Esplanāde” to watch the end
of the Festival. Participants were interested in what do people sang about and
they liked our patriotism.
